1996 / 1997 AIMS Banquet Menus

Here is an unusual piece of memorabilia, but no less significant… Two AIMS banquet menus with Waterford nominations listed on them.

1996 and Stage Fright’s Chess was nominated for Best Set, Best lighting and Best Stage Manager – winning the Stage Manager award. Edmund Rice Choral and Musical Society picked up nominations for Best Choral Singing,Best Female Voice – Michelle Kennedy,Best Comedian – Brendan Payne and won best G&S Show for ‘The Mikado’.

1997 and Premier Productions was nominated for the Special Award for the relationship between Daddy Warbucks (Denny Corcoran) and Annie (Sarah Rochford), while Paul Kavanagh was nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of Jackson in Waterford Music Theatre’s ‘The Hired Man’. Edmund Rice Choral and Musical Society picked up nominations for – Best G&S Show, Best Choral Singing and Best Lighting. Unfortunately none of them won that year.

Something different – but also something worth having. My thanks to Jamie Beamish for these rarities.
